in 1955, former Dandong Chemical
Institute of Light Industry, now
Dandong Chemical Institute Limited
Company of Light Industry (DCILI),
engaged in the reseach and development
of fine chemicals since early 60s, has
been mainly studying the leather
chemicals. In the past 50 years, more
than 100 scientific reseach results have
been achieved since its establishment.
50 of them have been awarded the
national or provincial scientific
technological progressive results and
more than 30 results have been
transformed into productivity in
transferred or cooperative forms. DCILI
has contributed greatly to China leather
industry and the national economic
building and development due to the fact
that the scientific technological
results have been put into production in
the forms of technical or tranferring
cooperation in above 10 provinces and
cities in China.
In the middle 80s, the state invested 12
million yuan (RMB) in building the
National Industrial Test Base of
Leather Chemicals in DCILI. The former
Ministry of Light Industry approved
DCILI to be China Leather Research and
Development Center in March 1990. During
the years of " the Sixth Five-year
Plan" to " the Ninth Five-year Plan" in
the national economic developing plans,
DCILI undertook and accomplished more
than 20 key scientific technological
items. The designed leather chemicals
and techniques referred to most
processes in leather making. DCILI has
given an important devotion to China
leather chemical industry and improving
the leather-making levels.
Based on the national industry policy,
"energy-saving and drainage-reducing "
and the developing strategy of China
Leather Society, "the 2nd Leather
Industry Creation", DCILI has put an key
research and development on "clean
leather processing", in order to solve
the environment pollution in leather
production, with the purpose of steady
development of the traditional leather
industry. Now the obvious progress has
already been obtained in DCILI, such as
the serial environment friendly
chemicals for leather and auxiliaries
for clean leather processing.
The oilfield chemicals is the new
researching and developing area for
DCILI, according to the market
requirement. Depending on the technical
experiences acquired through the years'
studies in fine chemicals and full
acceptance of the research and
development advantages both in China and
abroad, technicians have done systemic
research tests on the oilfield
auxiliaries used in artesian well, oil
extraction, affusion, increasement in
recovery ratio, etc. Now several
products have been designed and put into
production in batch, which have been
applied in Liaohe and Xinjiang
oilfields. As a result, better economic
profits have been gained in oil
extraction.
DCILI, with the covering area of
25000 square meters, construction area
of 12000 square meters and total capital
of 1570000 yuan (RMB), has 90
employees, including 5 chair engineers,
16 senior engineers and 20 engineers.
